Day 1: Sun, Apr 17 – Flight to Addis and arrival. Be met at the airport and transfer to your hotel. Rest of the morning will be on rest. In the afternoon, you will have a city tour of Addis that includes the National Museum, Merkato (the largest open air market in Africa) and Entoto Mountain for the panoramic view of the city on top of driving along main streets of the city. O/n Ghion Hotel (4*) or similar hotel, B/B Day 2: Mon, Apr 18 – Drive from Addis to Bahir Dar visiting the attractive views of the Blue Nile Gorge. O/n Tana or Papyrus Hotel or similar, B/B Day 3: Tue, Apr 19 – In the morning drive 32 km to visit the remarkable Blue Nile falls and in the afternoon make an admirable boat trip on Lake Tana to visit the monastery of Ura Kidane Mihret. O/n Tana or Papyrus Hotel or similar, B/B Day 4: Wed, Apr 20 – After breakfast drive from Bahir Dar to Gondar and visit of the 17th century castles of Gondar, Open Air bath of Emperor Fasiledas and the famous church of Debre Birhan Silassie (Light of Trinity) with wonderful murals. O/n Goha Hotel or similar, B/B Day 5: Thu, Apr 21 – After breakfast, fly from Gondar to Axum. Transfer to your hotel and then visit the sights, starting with the palace and tomb of King Caleb (6th C, AD), the extraordinary stele field (World Heritage Site) and tomb of King Ramhai (1st to 4th C, AD), followed by a trip to the church of St Mary of Tsion, (17th C, AD) in which is deposited the Ark of Covenant and continue to visit the palace of the Queen of Sheba (date unknown, some say 7th C, AD, others 10th C, BC!) and end the days wanderings at the small but excellent museum. O/n Ramhai Hotel or similar, B/B Day 6: Fri, Apr 22 – After breakfast, fly from Axum to Lalibela over the Wollo Mountains. Arrival and transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon, attend the Good Friday Prayer ceremony at one of the Churches in Lalibela. O/n Roha Hotel, B/B Day 7: Sat, Apr 23 – Full day visit of the first cluster of the 12th and 13th century rock-hewn churches of Lalibela which are considered by many as the 8th wonder of the world. In the evening go to the churches to celebrate the Easter festive in a traditional and colourful way. Thousands of people from all of the country come here to celebrate this colourful festivity and you will enjoy the music and praises from the church and those around. O/n Roha Hotel, B/B Day 8: Sun, Apr 24 – Drive from Lalibela to Kombolcha through the attractive Wollo Mountains. O/n Sunny Side Hotel, B/B Day 9: Mon, Apr 25 – Ater a late breakfast, drive from Kombolcha to Batti to see the colourful camel market. Here the Afar, Oromo and Amhara people come together to trade. Then proceed to ancient capital of Ethiopia - Ankober enjoying the scenery of the Rift Valley. O/n Ankober Lodge, B/B Day 10: Tue, Apr 26 – After breakfast, enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the mountainous at Ankober and visit the ruined palace of Menelik II and then drive to Addis. Afternoon will be free and in the evening be invited to one of the best Ethiopian National restaurants to taste a variety of Ethiopian food and enjoy folkloric dances and Ethiopian Coffee ceremony which will be organized by Paradise Ethiopia Travel.
